In the last financial year, Sasol entities received the following EcoVadis outcomes, demonstrating Sasol’s
commitment to advancing sustainability performance

All entities maintained or improved their scores during FY26. The current medal levels reflect both the
continuous tightening of EcoVadis’ scoring criteria and recalibration of thresholds.
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) evaluates environmental impacts
across a product’s lifecycle (ISO 14040/44), while Product
Carbon Footprint (PCF) focuses on greenhouse gas emissions
(ISO 14067).
During the year, Sasol strengthened PCF quality, consistency,
and usability by updating models with latest methodologies and
site-specific data. Progress included embedding Together for
Sustainability (TfS) requirements, increasing use of primary and
supplier data, and enhancing Scope 3 emission factors.
PCF insights were linked to the Emission Reduction Roadmap to
assess decarbonisation initiatives and future trajectories, supporting
transparent customer communication. Growing demand for PCF
information continues to drive improvements across the value chain.

Transport indicator of performance
TIoP is a Group-wide measure of the incident severity rate as a
function of distance travelled during product transportation. This
measure is split into two components:
• FIRST, reflecting avoidable incidents, where an incident
could reasonably have been prevented (as reported in the
table below)
• SECOND, reflecting the unavoidable incidents where no
incident preventive controls failed and nothing further
could reasonably have been done to avoid the incident
During FY26, no major or significant avoidable incidents were
reported.

Unfortunately, three fatal unavoidable transport-related incidents
occurred which were primarily attributable to negligent actions
by third parties. Consistent with Sasol’s commitment to a
strong learning culture and continuous improvement in safety
practices, comprehensive investigations were conducted, and
key learnings were shared across the organisation and with
external logistics partners.
As part of continuous improvement, Sasol has optimised and
is implementing a Product Logistic Safety Framework aimed
at creating a more proactive, aligned and control focused
approach to product logistic safety. Understanding the influence
and impact of service providers and external stakeholders
on overall logistic safety has increased the collaboration
and assurance in these areas. These collaborative initiatives
included a multi stakeholder emergency exercise conducted in
Potchefstroom that allowed Sasol to share best practices with
local first responders and improve their ability to respond to
complex incidents.

FEATURE STORY:
Strengthening logistics risk management
and operational efficiency
Safety and Quality Assessment System (SQAS)
certification continues to be the foundation for
partnering with responsible logistic transport
service providers.
Following the transition of SQAS-Africa audit
responsibilities to the Chemical and Allied Industries’
Association (CAIA), Sasol’s internal Product Logistic
Safety audit team has adopted a focused approach that
builds on the SQAS certification and provides assurance
on contract specific risks and controls. Continued
participation in logistics-related CAIA forums as well as
multiple external industry and government stakeholder
forums allows the PLS team to continue supporting and
influencing industry safety initiatives.
