Occupational safety and HSI programme
Safety remains a core value and Sasol
continues to be unwavering in the pursuit
of Zero Harm. Safety is a top priority at Sasol
to ensure that every Sasol and service provider
employee must return home safely every day.
To deliver on the safety commitment, Sasol has
a Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) policy
signed by Sasol’s CEO, and endorsed by all
leadership in the company.

APPROACH
Sasol’s performance is enabled through frontline
collaboration between operations, functional support
and service provider organisations. As risks are
actively managed to prevent incidents while multiple
stakeholders actively support the creation of safe
working environment.
With a strong focus on promoting care for employees
and a safe culture through in-field interaction and
visible felt leadership, is further supported by robust
policies, standards, practices and requirements, which
are integrated into Operational Excellence business
processes and defined ways of working in Service
Provider safety management.
To ensure systems are applied, behaviours align with
expectations, and risks are actively managed, firstline assurance is provided by frontline workers and
supported, where applicable, by second- and third-line
assurance through the combined assurance process.
A clear leadership assurance cadence is defined across
all levels of operational leadership.
Risk focus and continuous improvement are further
strengthened through an ongoing, leadership-led
process of defining SHE game plans.

COMMITMENT
The SHE policy is integrated into the execution of
practices and ways of working with clear direction
through the One Sasol SHE Excellence Approach
