to strengthen early learning and STEM

Early learning (ECD):
The Affordable Gold Standard (AGS) model
is a flagship initiative designed to lay the
foundational STEM competencies:
• Stage 2 design for the AGS infrastructure in
Sasolburg and Secunda is nearing completion.
In addition, the University of Pretoria has
finalised the STEM-based curriculum, which
is undergoing language adaptation to improve
accessibility for practitioners and support
school readiness

communities, including National Qualifications
Framework (NQF)-aligned training and quality
assurance processes

Sasol in society continued
Sasol recognises the role of education
in poverty reduction and preparing
young people to participate in the
economic growth and development of
the countries where Sasol operates.
These are the key strategic drivers for
Sasol’s investments in education:
CORPORATE
GOVERNANCE
• The Department of Basic Education
(DBE) Cloud serves as Sasol’s primary
digital learning ecosystem. To date, the
platform recorded 160 000 accesses,
with over 11 500 registered users
engaging in 661 courses
• To complement digital reach with
practical experience, Sasol’s Mobile
Science Laboratories assisted about
575 schools nationally, reaching over
39 161 learners
• 146 Grade 8 learners from eight schools
participated in the Sasol Girls in STEM
Hackathon, to mark the International Day
of the Girl Child. The aim of the Hackathon
is to introduce Grade eight girls to the
worlds of coding and digital innovation
Technical Education
Sasol is accelerating the transformation of
TVET colleges into centres of excellence.
A major milestone for FY26 is the official
handover of the Gert Sibande 4th Industrial
Revolution and cybersecurity laboratory
which will assist the youth with digitising
technical outputs.
• This facility will provide hands-on training in
welding robotics and data science
• Eight provinces participated in the Sasol National
Skills Competition, with over 566 schools attending
and 17 000 learners entering the competition in
order to showcase their talent in technical skills
• The UEM Master’s Programme continues to deliver
meaningful impact, with 82 graduates to date,
including 56 scholarship recipients, contributing to
the development of highly skilled professionals in
Mozambique

• Through long-term strategic partnerships with leading

TERTIARY AND RESEARCH:
Sasol continued its bursary, internship and research
support programmes to develop scarce skills and
strengthen graduate employability.
• Sasol supported 136 undergraduate and 150
postgraduate students in FY26
education and research institutions, Sasol Qatar is creating
a sustainable platform that strengthens STEM education,
innovation, and workforce development, contributing to
Qatar’s future scientific and technical talent pipeline
International Chemicals
• US: The Sasol Scholars Programme awarded 10
the handover of the Mangarelane classroom
block in Inhassoro District
scholarships to local high school students pursuing
secondary education. The Sasol Endowed Scholarship
Fund in Honor of Mninwa Johannes Mahlangu at
Southern University and A and M College awarded four
scholarships for the 2025 – 2026 school year
• Construction of Chitsotso Secondary School
• Italy: Sasol’s support enabled 20 community members
Mozambique
• In FY26 Mozambique, education delivery included
advanced, including classroom blocks and
supporting infrastructure set to benefit 1 200
students (Inhassoro District)
• Tuition fees were disbursed for ten scholarship
students studying in Malaysia and 49 master’s
students at Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM)

to attend Dynamo Camp, which provides free recreational
therapy for children and adolescents with serious illnesses
• Germany: Sasol’s “Azubium” career and apprenticeship
event gave over 200 young people and their parents
first-hand insight into technology, chemistry and future
