ENVIRONMENT AND
BIODIVERSITY
The environmental strategy has
evolved and expanded from
clean-up activities to an integrated
waste management solution,
driving sustainable transformation.
This approach prioritises waste-towealth initiatives that align Sasol’s
environmental stewardship with
national conservation goals.
Sasol’s sustainable environment
programmes aim to reduce waste
in the surrounding communities
and use the integrated value chain to
recycle materials, converting waste into
real value. The programme includes
environmental education, tree planting,
street clean-ups, waste collection and
recycling in Sasol’s operational areas.

awareness and biodiversity education through
the maintenance and stewardship of the Qatar
e-Nature platform, which remains a key national
digital resource for environmental knowledge
and engagement. During FY26, engagements
progressed towards the structured transfer of the
platform to the Friends of the Environment Centre
under the Ministry of Environment and Climate
Change, ensuring long-term sustainability and local
ownership while preserving its educational legacy
• In parallel, the formal transfer of the flagship
Qatar e-Nature platform to the Friends of the
Environment Centre, under the auspices of Qatar’s
Ministry of Environment and Climate Change,
was completed. The transition empowers national
stakeholders to continue expanding environmental
education, enabling the refocusing of Sasol’s CSR
priorities towards accessibility, STEM outreach,
and digital inclusion
