IMPACT
SASOL FOR GOOD
The Sasol for Good programme has four
elements
1
2
3
4
Employee giving – employees
give time or money to causes,
allowing them to be advocates for
community issues and empowering
beneficiaries
Non-profit organisations
(NPOs) support – investment
in NPO capacity-building and to
community-based organisations
Philanthropy activities linked
to local communities – Sasol
donates to small community
based organisations contributing
to programmes that uplift their
communities
Community development –
various community development
initiatives are implemented,
including the Cancer Association of
South Africa (CANSA) Shavathon,
school shoes drive, festive drive and
more. These programmes assist
our local communities and are
often done in collaboration with our
employees, franchisees and other
local stakeholders and partners
Employees are encouraged to get involved in their communities by volunteering their time, skills and resources through company and
employee initiated social development causes. Through ‘Sasol for Good’, employees are given 40 hours of paid leave per annum in which
to volunteer. This empowers local communities and co-creates sustainable livelihoods by leveraging the considerable, diverse abilities
and expertise of Sasol employees as volunteers.

China: Handicraft Club with
Team Sasol in China
• As the traditional Chinese solar term ‘Chu
Shu’ marked the end of the hot and humid
season, Sasol China’s Handicraft Club, in
partnership with Amity Foundation, hosted
a cultural heritage event at Haolaiwu
Senior Home. The event featured an

intergenerational tie-dyeing workshop that
brought together elderly residents, Sasol
employees, and their families to celebrate and
preserve traditional Chinese craftsmanship.
Parents, children, and seniors worked side
by side to create tie-dyed fabrics, promoting
cultural exchange, community connection,
and mutual respect. The initiative also
highlighted the importance of caring for the
elderly and preserving cultural heritage, values
deeply rooted in Chinese tradition. Event
organiser Qin Zhang noted that the activity
aimed to strengthen community bonds while
raising awareness about the significance of
supporting older generations and keeping
traditional crafts alive for the future
