COMMITMENT
Sasol is committed to the sustainable
supply and delivery of goods, services and
products thereby maximising shared value.
Through mutually beneficial relationships with its
supply chain stakeholders, Sasol endeavours to
understand, translate and proactively deliver on
commitments, on time and at the required demand
quality and price. The organisation committed to
developing local communities and prioritising local
procurement.
GROUP
APPROACH
Sasol actively advocates for compliance with laws, international codes of conduct, human and environmental
rights, both within its own business and along its value chains. The goal is to achieve competitive prices through
professional procurement, establish stable and reliable supply chains, and at the same time meet ethical and
environmental standards. Sasol holds its suppliers to the same standards that it sets for itself. The approach
taken towards economic growth entails embracing principles of sustainability through socially and environmentally
responsible procurement practices. It also includes fostering local community participation; finding opportunities for
local manufacturing; and targeting preferential procurement with historically disadvantaged groups. Sound principles
and governance processes underpin this integrated approach.
TARGETED INTERVENTIONS
Renewable and
bio-feedstocks
Sasol has achieved first in
Africa sustainability product
certification, which covers the
utilisation of used cooking oil
and vegetable oil as feedstock
to produce aviation fuel and
renewable diesel.
Renewable electricity procurement
Conflict minerals
International Chemicals is progressing its
transition to renewable electricity across major
sites, targeting an additional 160 – 170 ktpa in
Scope 2 emissions reductions to date.
Sasol makes an annual submission as
part of its United States Securities and
Exchange Commission filing in terms of
the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and
Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008,
on its use of any of the four minerals that
have been linked to conflict in African
countries (known as conflict minerals).
Sasol’s commitment to responsible
and ethical procurement of conflict
minerals has been incorporated in the
www
Sasol Supply Chain policy.

sourcing throughout the
supply chain.

Procurement of banned and
restricted substances
Sasol screens all orders for inbound
