KEY MESSAGES
Strategic clarity, disciplined execution and sound governance
remain central to strengthening Sasol’s foundation business,
advancing growth and transformation, and building a more
resilient Group that contributes to energy security and
creates sustainable long-term value.
MURIEL DUBE // Chairman of the Board
Dear stakeholders,
This past year has reinforced the
importance of strategic clarity and
disciplined execution while navigating
an increasingly complex and evolving
external environment - an imperative
that remains particularly relevant for
Sasol. The execution of our strategy
to strengthen long-term resilience,
protect value creation and support the
energy needs of the markets we serve,
has been sharpened.
• Reinforcing Sasol’s role in energy security and reliable
supply chains
• Engaging constructively with stakeholders to support
enabling policy and regulatory frameworks
• Upholding ethical leadership, King V principles,
independence and effective oversight
The Middle East conflict has highlighted the vulnerability of global
energy systems and the importance of dependable supply chains.
For Sasol, it underscores the need to remain resilient, agile and
competitive while maintaining a clear focus on energy security,
reliability, and sustainable value creation.
Strategic intent
Against this backdrop, the Board remains focused on ensuring that
strategic ambition is matched by disciplined execution, appropriate
capital allocation and financial resilience required to navigate
uncertainty and deliver sustainable long-term value.
We are therefore focused on executing against the strategic priorities
set out at our Capital Markets Day in May 2025, moving from
concept to delivery, as detailed on pages 39 – 45
Delivering on our strategy requires an enabling regulatory and policy
framework that supports and incentivises investment competitiveness
and sustainable economic growth. We believe that the just transition
imperative presents an opportunity for industrial renewal. We therefore
support carbon pricing alongside structured carbon tax recycling
mechanisms that can help mobilise investment in emission reduction
and industrial transformation. Complementary policy measures to
enable a just and economically sustainable transition are therefore
required. We continue to engage constructively with government and
other stakeholders to advance practical and effective policy solutions
aligned with national development priorities.

We remain attentive to developments in industry reporting
standards while applying integrated thinking across our reporting.
As disclosure requirements evolve, we are aligning our reporting
with expectations of the International Sustainability Standards Board
(ISSB), strengthening the consistency and connectivity across our
disclosures providing stakeholders with a more coherent view of our
performance.
Safety: intensifying our focus on Zero Harm
The safety of our people is a core value and fundamental to how we
operate.
The tragic loss of two lives during the year at Secunda Thubelisha
Colliery and Power Station East plant is deeply concerning and
underscores the imperative to do more to achieve our ambition
of Zero Harm.
We are taking decisive action in response to these incidents,
with focused attention on addressing identified causes, strengthen
training, and reinforce accountability to prevent recurrence.
The Board is closely overseeing progress and effectiveness of
these interventions.
Hospitalisations and severe injuries decreased in FY26, alongside
a reduction in incidents related to fires, explosions and releases.
This improvement reflects sustained focus on continuous
improvement, targeted training, and behavioural interventions.
