Governance and Board Leadership
The Board remains committed to ethical and effective leadership,
underpinned by sound corporate governance. The Board is satisfied
that Sasol has applied the principles of the King V Report on Corporate
Governance for South Africa 2025 (King V™) during the reporting period
and that the governance practices and processes implemented in support
of those principles have contributed to ethical and effective leadership,
good performance, effective control and legitimacy.
In February 2026, Kathy Harper stepped down from the Board, and we
thank her for her valuable contribution and dedicated service over the
years. On 1 February 2026, we welcomed Mr Rhidwaan Gasant to the
Board.
The Board’s ongoing succession planning and refreshment process seeks
to maintain an appropriate balance of skills, experience, diversity and
independence aligned to Sasol’s strategic priorities, operating environment
and future oversight requirements. Our Board Committee memberships
are detailed on page 78 and further support effective oversight and
guidance of Sasol’s near-term priorities and long-term strategic objectives.
Looking ahead
Building a resilient, sustainable future-ready business starts with doing
the fundamentals exceptionally well. For us at Sasol, that means bringing
absolute clarity to our strategy, maintaining disciplined execution and
upholding the highest standards of governance. As we advance our
strategy, by focusing on strengthening our core business foundation today,
we are positioning the group to navigate market volatility, support energy
security and deliver value to our shareholders and communities for years
to come.
On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank our employees, customers,
service providers and contractors for their dedication and contribution
during the year. As we enter the new financial year, our focus is firmly
on execution, strengthening our foundation business, building greater
resilience and advancing our growth and transformation priorities.
We thank our stakeholders for their continued support and constructive
engagement. The Board has confidence in Team Sasol’s ability to deliver
and create sustainable long-term value.
